I've received over 60 chicks in the last 2 months. useless death is one thing, but hey, the most respect I can show a critter is a fast death. but 60 birds are not going to get hugs and kisses from me.

I handle cattle for vet/safty reasons, but it's not like a chicken can kick you and break your leg.

A waiter was asked how they prepared there chickens..
"well we just tell them they are going to die"....

Just got 14 new chicks 2 months ago, they are doing fine but has anyone found a good way to keep the flys down? I have fly traps up but at 5 dollars each that is too much, They are in a pen 12x16 most of the day and I also rototill the soil each week to turn in the stuff they leave behind. some days the flys are bad others not so bad, I tryed the stuff the store had for livesock/fleas/mites but it doesnt seem to help with the flys. Any help would be great. You can email me also if you have any suggestions.

bob.mary.maher@sbcglobal.net     Thanks to everyone. Enjoy the chickens and they sure do like treats,  bob

Fly tape seems to attract them, so we don't use them. There is this new thing on the market were you bait them into a throw away bucket/bag. Along the lines of a hornet's trap. Just haven't seen it on the market down here.
