Actually Sue I don't normally give those sorts of names.

My Breeder Bull's name is Jack. His sire was Sambo and before that it was Dan. Cattle get names like Daisy, and Daisy's daughter, Daniel red. Not into those kinds of names.

I presumed you knew about goat ride'n clubs.

Murphy - He was the billy goat that was thrown out of the Chicago Cub's Wrigley Field during a World Series game in 1945, due to the animals "objectionable odor". The owner of the goat cursed the Chicago Cubs, declaring they would never play in another world series game!  I guess this makes him an infamous goat.

By the way, I'm not really a sports fan, but live close enough to Chicago to have heard the "Curse of the billy goat" story a few times. I would much rather watch Andy Griffith than a baseball game!

Woops, I read it twice and completely overlooked it.  Glad to see he made the list.

Thanks,

Still looking for famous goats?

There is a book called "Twoey and the Goat," by Robbie Timmons. It is a children's chapter book, and a true story about a Thoroughbred named Two Links Back who refused to go to the starting gate without his goaty little friend, Kidd.
