I was wondering if I was looking for a particular farm or a particular product is there any way to search my farm descriptions?

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question...

Okay, let me try to be clearer.  When you go to the "My Farms" page, where everyone has their farms listed, the only way I can see to look at the different farm descriptions is to page through one page at a time until I find one I am interested in and then click on it.

What I would like to be able to do is search, either for a farm name or a product.  For example, if I want to see if there are any farms raising "gourds", I would like to be able to do a search of the my farms database to find farms indicating that they raise gourds.

Or, if I am talking to someone on one of the discussion groups and I would like to see where their farm is and what they raise I would do a search and read about them.

Does this clear up what I am asking or have I just muddied the waters.

I'm sorry, I can't help you out with your question.  I only hang out here in the forums, really, and haven't even visited the paged you are referring to.

I hope a moderator/administrator sees your question soon!

Glad I'm not the only one.  I had a friend call this morning and ask where he could get Nigerian Dwarf goats, I'd like to search My Farm to see if there is anyone in our area.  Hopefully someonw will come to our rescue soon.

Thank you all for your comments.

Having a search option dedicated to My Farm is a great idea!

If you're looking for a breeder in a certain location, you may wish to check out our breed associations pages.

Here's a link to the goat breed associations page: http://www.hobbyfarms.com/farm-resources/livestock-resources/Goat-Breed-Associations.aspx

Hope this helps!

Ditto on being able to search this site.

If you're looking for Rabbits, look at the American Rabbit Breeders Assn. site

http://www.arba.net/

There are national, regional and local clubs for most breeds & or areas'

Enjoy

hobby farm really needs to have an organisation of the farms they get to sign up by location and interests or the list is to cumbersome and many of the listings will be buried and will only become advertising fodder i hope they come up with a way to subdivide the farms and improve accsessor it will be pointless even a state or region breakdown would be very useful

Unfortunately, Hobby Farms does not seem to be very responsive to inquiries or requests by their readers.  I have been placing ads in their magazine for a breed association for two years now.  For that entire time I have been asking for our sheep breed to be added to their sheep breed listing on this website.  They have yet to add us.  Recently I contacted another magazine asking them to add the sheep breed to their sheep guide and it was done in less than a week.  Needless to say the Board for our breed assn wants to move our advertising money elsewhere.  You can see how long ago readers asked for a search feature on My Farms and their has been no response from anyone.
