Okay so P2, Pa-Pa and I got the show calves in the barn for their feeding and then caught each one in the chute to put their tattoos in there ears. We found two ticks in P3's right ear. No wonder why he's fallen behind in the weight game.

So I thought with this de-lice spray we've been putting on them were suppose to help with ticks....yet another thing I'm worng about.

Is there something out there besides setting the chicken flock free to help with ticks?

There are different products like for horses. One I am looking at Ultra shield protects from ticks.. since they are show calves, could you put something on a cloth and rub their ears? We can't keep ticks off our dog, but haven't found any on the horses.. and can't get close enough to the cows to check

You can sprinkle some Seven powder in their ears.  This will help keep the ticks out of the ears.

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but you can no longer purchase Seven Dust by the 5 pounds bags down here.

Had to buy a case of the cans and get my ID photo copied, nevered mind we were cleaning out the chicken coop, pig shelters (3) and dusting the bean plants.
