Got to see 1 day of the cattle dog finals last Sat. Cool to watch the dogs try to run the cattlle thru the course. Out of the 6 hrs I was there only 3 completed the course. Wonder if those dogs would be good enough to heard teen age daughters

No such luck on herding the teenagers... If you think that is cool to see, you need to watch a hog trail

| OK, I give up. I tried to Google it, and search on YouTube but couldn't find anything I was expecting. Saw lots of gun/bow video, UTV's, and even a murder case in Fl. but I think I missed what you were talking about.

| That's soo cool! Where are the trials? DH had a catahoola that sadly died as a puppy. He was the best dog! We're hoping to get another as soon as our house is finished being built. We don't use dogs to herd our cattle, but wish we did! I bet it would make the task much easier.

| Found some video on the Catahoulas. Looks like they are used to corner or bay another critter or group of critters and hold them in place. Wonder if they can be trained to work at the heel instead of the head? Noisey dogs arn't they. Love the look of the glass (blue) eye.

| that's the bad thing about Catahoulas, if you don't know their background then you can't train them to go for the heel Even though my mom been breeding them for 30 plus yrs, I want take a pup from her blood line because they go for the head and you can't sell show cows with face problems.
