When he left this morning there was 1 incubator set up with goose & turkey eggs in it when he came home they both were set up and the spare had 14 duck & chicken eggs in it.

One of our ducks had vanished and when we found her she was hiding on a nest full of assorted eggs and so we could get under the coop closed in better to keep the hens from laying under there where we couldn't find the eggs we took the eggs put them in the incubator got her & the one hen out and closed in. Hopefully now our egg count will go back up again.

Hello I have a question have you put eggs in the incubators so they hatch at the same time? chickens only take 21 days and ducks take 28 to 30. You stop turning them the last 3 days and if they are in automatic turners how are you going to do this? Just hoping you planed for this and don't have a big disappointment when you have a problem with the hatch. Good luck on your hatching!!

Please God remember me.

The duck & chicken eggs aren't in a turner right now I'm hand turning, and yes I know they won't hatch at the same time but I have put them together in the past with no hatch problems other than the typical a few of the eggs weren't fertile and rotted problem (those came out & went in the woods)

Hello I was glad to hear this. People that have never hatched any thing before get a LITTLE frustrated when they put the eggs going then find out. I hate to see anyone loose eggs especially when they bought them from ebay as they are usually not cheap and the hatch rate is good at 50 per cent. I have some light sussex/coronation chickens that I just hatched on march 17th. I got 8 out of 12 to hatch and now that they are getting their feathers 2 are the coronation color. I had such a good hatch with this mans eggs I bought more and they are due to hatch on the 11th. I keep staring at the incubator,I feel like an expecting mother waiting. I have some of my eggs in there also blue marans, R.I.R.'s and a few lavender orpington. I have sense sold my R.I.R. roo. and 2 hens to go with him.I only have 1 lavender hen and 2 roo. I have more chicks of this breed I'm buying. They are so pretty everyone that see's them wants some. They look like someone took a white chicken in dipped it in dye. I think it helps that they are also big and fluffy also.

Please God remember me.

The duck & chicken eggs aren't from E-bay these are from our own birds, it's the turkey & goose eggs I got from E-bay & Sis's boss had already told us that goose eggs can be very hard to hatch so I'm not getting overly expectant with those. The Turkey eggs are in the autoturner but the goose eggs I'm hand turning 3 or 4 times a day I had to unhook those from the autoturner because they wouldn't stay on it.

Hello what kind of ducks and chickens are you hatching? I hatched turkeys last year. Calico cross these I sold and blue slate and black spanish were the others. I couldn't kill them so I hired the neighbor kids to do it. I don't think I'm hatching them this year. I would of liked to kept the blue slate to raise but I didn't have room to keep them for the winter. My peacocks wouldn't of had a place to live so the turkeys went in the freezer. I do have to admit the 2 we've eaten tasted good. Good luck with your hatching!!

Please God remember me.

The duck eggs are either Mallard or Rouen/Pekin cross and the chicken eggs could possibly be Call Duck eggs once I looked at them they look small for the chickens we have but we have so many different breeds of chicken we never know until thay hatch. Last year we hatched 2 Pekin/Rouen cross & 2 Mallard/Rouen cross (we get wild mallard drakes that come visit). The turkey eggs I bought to hatch are Blue Slates & Royal Palms we plan on keeping a couple of hens and a Tom
