| I saw an ad for bolt-on forks that attach to the bucket of a small tractor. Has anyone had any experience with these? They look like they should work, but they aren't that cheap to I wanted to ask around first. Thought they'd make a good Christmas present. thanks!

| Depends onwhat you plan on doing with them. As long as you are not planning on heavy use...they are fine. If you have a quick detach bucket system get the fork attachment instead...you won't regret it.

| When we bought our tractor 8 years ago, we bought 2 buckets and had forks attached to one of them. We switch out buckets, rather than take the forks off. I posted pics of it about a year ago, I think. The forks come in really handy.

I'm a machinist/welder so I made my own and like Karen we find them indispensable. We are the exact opposite from her in that we chain our forks to the bucket and thus take our forks on and off rather then swap out bucket/forks.
I have a hard time digging out straw-laden manure, but the fork/bucket combo breaks open the manure pile, and the bucket allows it to be scooped up and moved. With just the bucket, the hay prevented the manure from filling the bucket, and with just the forks, the manure fell between the forks. A combination works great however!!

Tell a welfare recipient they must work and they call their congressman. Tell a farmer he can no longer work and he commits suicide. No wonder 1/2% of the population feeds the other 99-1/2%!!
