Cats are funny little creatures! If you want them to live inside they sneak out. If you want barn cats they sneak in. They don't come when you want to cuddle. But, they want to sit on the lap of the cat hater in the room. I had a Momma cat once, bring a gopher to her day old kittens. At least she killed that one first, she always plunked live ones at my feet!

It could be worse, FM. The cat we had growing up was a snake hunter.  You'd see him outside, throwing them up in the air and letting them drop. After one or two tosses, the wily creatures would play dead, belly up, wherever they landed. He'd toss them a few more times, then lose interest and walk away. We all thought it was great fun . . . until. . .

he started bringing them into the house and releasing them

Well, it could be worse.....

When I was stationed in South Carolina, we had a pet rat that was better at catching and killing mice and bugs than our 30 pound Bengal tomcat!

OK. so now they have run out of mice! They're bringing in, what looks like the world's biggest grasshoppers! I have body parts all over the bathroom, even in the tub! Found one that had escaped, minus a couple of legs, in the living room. Even the little dog, is throwing carcasses into the air, and pouncing on them. Good grief!

Hey! I just remembered our old cat, he was an indoor/outdoor cat, until THAT WEEK. He had pounced on a feed feedbag, which was moving a little. I didn't have time from the moment the rattling started to when the rattler bit , to get him out of the way. He lived through that, went outside 3 days later, came back in with a stick stuck in his eye. He lost vision in the eye ,wouldn't step foot outside again. He tortured mice after that. The other cats would bring them to him. He'd put them in MY bathtub, lay on the top ledge and watch them run around batting them as they tried to climb out. I think he was trying to figure which one of them could bite like a snake and pick up sticks to jab with!
