I agree with Gallus. The newer books really are better. They retain the best of the older versions with up-to-date information.

The first place I look for info is in my Storey books.

One thing to add: don't overlook Storey's livestock books for children (such as Your Goats and Your Chickens). They're very well written, amazingly comprehensive, and it's easy to find information very quickly.

I do have most of the Storey books in the livestock area. Along with the Your Goats, Sheep, etc. I would like to have a collection of the GW books though.
