| I have a tack/hay room that I want to put a solar light in. The area that needs to be lit is only about 8' x 12'. I bought a little set up for about $20.00 from Harbor freight and Salvage. It was a small fluorescent light with a battery in it going to a small solar panel. It worked dimly for a couple of weeks then stopped. I'd like to find something that will actually light the room, last a few years, and be a reasonable price. Can any of you recommend something that is working for you? We would rarely use it other than late fall and winter so maybe incandescent is better because of colder temps.

For the cold incandesent is better, but I haven't found any solar lights that give off more than a very dim light. We run a heavy duty extention cord and plug in a brooder lamp with a regular light bulb in it.

| I found out that you get what you pay for when it comes to lights and anything solar. There are some better lights out there for more like $50 to $60 bucks. I got one as a gift and it works great. I think it came from home depot.
