Oh, one more thing Cweick. Now is the time to enjoy the pigs. Do the research on them. Prepare for their arrival with pens and equipment, and get P2 involved. Right now is the fun time, its actually all work once they arrive.

Eat lamb...because 50,000 coyotes CAN'T be wrong!

What do you mean once they arrive...LOL...(work that is)? It's here and now...... I have walked (in red rubber boots) the woods to many times while I was off from work to find "the best" spot for them (shade wise). Then P2 got a hold of a TSC book and "X and O" the entire book. If I build the pen his way it's going to be another manson on the place where if we need to we can move in. I've got paper pigs from the front of the house to the back. I was hoping he would switch gears by now and work on Pa-Pa for a calf for Christmas. But then again he may be doing that too.

But I have to get a pic of his barn that he and his Pa-Paw made posted. They put blue Christmas lights on it and for some odd reason I don't like those colored lights. We tried the slap lights so he could see the inside of the barn but the light bulbs burnt out.

How old do you think a pig can be to fend off a dog? Having problems again.

well if you were from here in my area and actualy were talking to me (as you did with your back guy) then you'd know the answer already but when people

"take the leap" and " retire to the farm" or do what the readers of this mag do when they pull up stakes and do the green acres thing.. then they GET HERE.

people form away don't know..... follow?

if I'm looking for a place to get stuff. I go to the auction to find people who have the stuff...not the stuff.

WOS...got to be honest...I had to reread you last two replys. Now I think I got it since the coffee kick in. I think you are saying that you don't have to go to the auction only purchase but get contact numbers of people who may have better stock at home. Just keep setting on your hands while talking or do it outside the barn...LOL...

Checked home messages. Got one from Mr. Walker, we have a date to see Iggy and Gilbert's mom and the man's operation. YEAH! Got to write a post-it-note to my self if we don't get a call back by Thanksgiving to give him a call on his cell for a time for Friday, November 27th. Now I have to wait to tell P2 this afternoon.

well, I will poll hook some. not that I encourage what is illeagle in some states here. And I can't totally knock auctions all the time. I won't get cattle from sale barns. however Piglets and such are often sold outside from the back of a truck before the sale.

there are many ways to look at this. another is to say this.. if someone is come'n to THIS SITE to ask that question...uh well that's the wrong place for the right answer.

we've talked about knowing the people...and good reputation. that can't be learned hear. I can tell you a million places and ways to come by stuff. There must be as many ideas on buy'n and selling as there are buyers and sellers.

But when it comes right down to it, one needs to have some face time with both live stock and people.

Here...Here...that's why we are going to Mr. Walkers place now 27th of November...besides the fact he doesn't have piglets on the ground yet...how would I explain to hubby that we came home with 2 and no pen......
