My goats spend a lot of time itching. Is it possible they have fleas? If they do, how do you get rid of them?

I would be more suspicious of lice than fleas.  There are several louse powders available that work quite well.

Mountainport Farms, home to 50 some odd goats, 4 LGDs, 1 crazy Australian Shepherd, 2 cats, a dozen chickens, a rabbit and a chinchilla -- oh, and two people!

A lot of dewormers have anti-lice agents in them. Check your goat dewormer for this and maybe treat your goats. The reason I said maybe is because with sheep dewormer/lice killer you cannot give it to a pregnant sheep in the first stage of pregnancy...which my sheep are. So be wary of what part of the cycle they are in.

Tell a welfare recipient they must work and they call their congressman. Tell a farmer he can no longer work and he commits suicide. No wonder 1/2% of the population feeds the other 99-1/2%!!

Probably lice.  Common problem during winter.  You can use products like Ultra-Boss, or injectable Ivermectin(injected for lice, orally for worms in goats).

I wormed my goats in Aug. They have been with the buck since then and I hope he got lucky with those does. Can you see the lice eggs on the hair like you can with humans?

If they will let you, try some DE (Dieatomous Earth) you can get it in food grade. It's ground fossil shell and you just coat them with it. I would tell you to try 20 mule team but that's not food grade. Back to the DE you can put it in their food too to help with internal parasites.

If you are feeding chickens you use 2% of the weight of the food and stir it in (DE).

Lice are very rarely seen and then only in severe cases.  Signs are a lot of itching and hair sticking up oddly.
