I spent most of this morning dicing then sealing 6 pints of green peppers which is no easy task when you have 4 cats and a pug helping the kitten is the worst because she gets in race mode & has to climb what ever is in her way (which is usually me). I'd seed, slice, then dice a cutting board full vaccum seal those then do the next round.

I did find out the hard way though no matter how good you think you've washed your hands DON"T itch your eyes, that burns so bad it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Good for you. This is where you need to get in your car and drive up here and give me a swift kick in my hiney. Good soil, plenty of tillable acres, inexhaustible compost and yet no garden. (huh?) Yep, my ex-wife always had a garden but ever since 2004 when she left, we haven't grown one thing.

This is why I respect homesteaders so much, they really do all they can and make the most of it. Again good for you!

I do really need to break down & buy a second freezer though, my upright & the one in my fridge just don't hold a full winters worth of meat, veggies & breads.
