Thanks

I love bagels!!!! You can put anything you want on them. Broiled with melted cheese to mixing homemade jams with the cream cheese. Tuna? Yummm!

Peace.....

For breakfast I like butter and any jam or orange marmalade.

Use pizza toppings and broil or bake to heat for a great snack or lunch.

And here's a GREAT bagel sandwich:
Start with an onion bagel. Spread some garlic cream cheese on each side. Top one side with some heated roast beef or corned beef slices. Top that with a slice of cheddar then finally with some onion slices. Heat under the broiler until the cheddar cheese melts. Put the top on and enjoy with a dill pickle on the side.

A beer is a good beverage choice if you are so inclined.

I don't do bagels, there's something about the taste. I like either toast, english muffins, or crossaints with the toast & muffins I want butter or peanut butter with the crossaint ham, eggs, & cheese.

Bagels I like:  Anything whole grain.  Not bagels you can find at the supermarket but the really good ones made by the companies trying to be healthier.  White bagels?  Ewwww.

I like my bagels toasted.

Toppings: Just about anything!  Favorites are tomato, avacodo, sweet onion, red pepper, cheese, lunchmeat, cayenne pepper flakes, etc.  Bagels are the breakfast food every Friday.

Has anyone ever made their own?  I have a recipe but just never had the energy (when do I ever?).  It is one of the (many) things I miss about Az as we had great bagel places but here in ND...they are very boring and hard to find at that.

They are a lot of work, but if you don't have a *real* bagel shop within 50 miles, yes, it's worth it.

Yeah, I have made my own with my mother a couple of times and once with out.  They can be very good and well worth it but only for a couple of days.

My fav is Lox and Capers with Creamcheese.  Soooo Goood.  Specially if you make your own Lox.  The taste is similar to store bought but the texture is a 1000 times better.

Just remember, if the recipe doesn't say to boil the bagel then it ISN'T a bagel.  That is how you get the chewy texture that separates it from other heavy breads.

Have fun and GL they are hard to master.
