| I live in south Texas so it is still in the high 80's some 90's and I was just wondering if I still had time to get in a small garden for fall? Also I am new to the whole gardening thing so I don't know what you plant in the fall?

| Do you like mustard greens? They are oh so easy to plant unless you let you chickens have to run of the place. Last year the flock started at on end and wipped me out in an entire day. Our place is in Washington Parish, Louisiana. I've got red and white potatoes coming up from when I did not dig up the entire row. Next month is when we start to plant rye grass, clover and if we get it this year wheat. Our short list October through April broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, cabbage, kale, collards, garlic, beets, carrots, cerley, endive, leek, lettuce, chard, turnip, thyme, sage, rosemary, oregano, french, tarragon, lavender, chives, cilantro, dill, mints, parsley, horse beans (fava beans to harvested in spring). Hope this helps

I just made a great discovery! There is a farmers market near the town I work in that is only a little out of the way that has GREAT prices and really nice produce. I want to do a garden but fear I may have missed the boat for this year and when I do one I would also like to be able to can my unused veggies so I think I may try and jump on that wagon in the spring and just take advantage of the good veggies available here.

| Even though your post was from Sept. & it's Oct, you should still be able to plant a lot of things. I live outside Austin, personally I'm planting Cilatro now because we love it & it struggled in the summer, but someone told me it'd do great in the fall. My oregano & sage also do alot better in the cool down.
