Maybe every one knows the typical hello. Witch is what every one says. And in about a quick cluck I will say it.....Hello!! (just being silly)

Aside from the funny talk, I have come here to learn more about, and show off my Chickens.(which were mistreated, and then given to me) and my raised from birth chick. (Who unlike anything I have ever seen, sits on my shoulder)

I really love my birds and want to share them with other people that have chickens too!(Or anybody else that wants to hug them)

Greeting from Washington Parish,

We have a small flock and it got smaller as of this morning. We are down to 18 hens, with 6 keets and 8 roos in the brooder. Our flock is starting their molting and boy oh boy when P2 (my son) went out there I heard him scream from inside the house. I hit the back door and he brought up an hand full of feathers. The first thing that came to my mind was the owl. But went out and found Fry our unkown breed wings bear and the pen feathers coming out. Relief for the moment. Our hen flock has 1 Production Red, 2 Barred Plymouth Rocks, Fry, 2 Welsummers, 9 Americanas (use to have 10), black, red and white sex link. They all have names and temperments.

Hope to spot you on the forums.

Could probably see why.XD  I have my hybrid chick raised from since he was still a little wet under the hen. I started playing with it once it dried and fell in love with it once I sat it on the ground and realized a small black fluff was following me across the yard. Now the thing will sit on my shoulder and hates to be taken off.

All of the other chickens were neglected. Many of them died, the owner had her expected her sons to help water and toss table scraps to them, and they somehow forgot(yea right, though thats what they continue to tell me). So now there is only two cocks left and five hens. I' m still trying to figure out what three of the hens are. One cock is a White leghorn, the other cock and the hens he is with are supposedly Buff Orpington. So in general I' m nursing some chickens back to health, and raising a very loving and gentle mix breed chick(I found this ironic because the mother was a very aggressive thing, and the father was a Silver Phoenix) that I just happen to let the neighbors eight year old and five year old pet and handle .
