But it is nice to see someone from Central Florida on here, that's where I am from also, born and raised. Most things I ever find are from people that are from farther North and West, so it good to know there are people out there in my area I can share with also.

RE: Hello from Florida!

We chose NE Alabama, but our property is only 2 miles south of the Tennessee border, so we have the beautiful mountains and wide open spaces. I have been shocked at how many people are leaving Florida to relocate to that area.

We packed up all our belongings this weekend and are planning to move all our stuff up there next week. We are just waiting on my husband's transfer to complete the final step in our 7 year plan. Well, maybe not the final step, since we still have to get the fences fixed, make homes for the animals, and....okay, maybe we should make this a 10 year plan!

Best wishes,

RE: Hello from Florida!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I can't wait to move from Florida! I have lived here all of my life, but want to move to Tennessee! I want the changing seasons and a more peaceful life! Florida has really turned into a retirement state and everyone who moves around where we are complain about animals and agriculture. They want the malls and the golf courses! Not me...give me the country life any day!

RE: Hello from Florida!

Welcome! Our next door neighbors live in central Florida near Winterhaven and eventually plan to move up here (Arkansas Ozarks) in a few years.

Our place is sort of an informal sanctuary. We still have three of the horses we brought here when we closed our Minnesota horse rescue (two have passed along to horsety heaven since then) as well as a few rescued sheep and goats and the rest of our animals are decorative rather than productive. Except our two Nubian does--we do breed them to get milk but their kids are never sold for meat.

Sue

RE: Hello from Florida!

Welcome!

You will find a wonderful group of people here who generously share their knowledge with everyone!

We are moving from the central Florida area (Satellite Beach) to our dream farm within the next few weeks so hopefully I'll get some experience of my own to share...lol....

Hello from Florida!

I am so glad that I discovered this group! I don't subscribe to Hobby Farms, but I usually pick up my copy at the feed store!!!!! I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning new things. I live with my husband of 21 years in Central Florida! We have a little farm that is basically a animal sanctuary. We also planted our first garden this year...we are so proud of ourselves. It is really nice to just walk out to the garden and get fresh, no chemical, veggies and fruit! Have a wonderful and blessed day all!
